Why We Need You More Than Ever
Common ground isn’t missing—it’s just waiting for someone to build on it.
Let’s be honest: the loudest voices in American politics don’t always represent the smartest ones. Or the kindest. Or the most practical. While most of us are trying to solve real problems—like how to afford childcare, keep our communities safe, or just talk to our in-laws without triggering a full-blown argument—too many elected officials are busy reigniting culture wars and dunking on each other for retweets.
But here’s the thing: behind the noise, Americans actually agree on a lot more than we’ve been led to believe.

At Builders, we’re in the business of uncovering that hidden common ground—and helping people turn it into real, actionable solutions. From abortion policy to education, energy to mental health, our polling shows the same pattern over and over: there’s more consensus than conflict. What’s missing isn’t agreement. It’s follow-through.
That’s where you come in
If you’ve ever felt like democracy is something happening to you instead of with you, you’re not alone. But it doesn’t have to be that way. The Builders Movement is creating a new path—one led by citizens, grounded in shared values, and powered by practical ideas that work across divides.
We’re bringing together Americans from all walks of life—rural and urban, red and blue, Gen Z to Boomer—to build durable solutions on the issues that matter most. These aren’t kumbaya conversations or empty listening sessions. They’re real efforts to understand, design, and advance policies that reflect what the majority actually wants.
Because when the system stops listening, it’s time to build something better
We’ve already facilitated this work in places like Wisconsin, where we brought together citizens with different perspectives on abortion to co-create proposals that support women, children, and families. And in Tennessee, where citizens with different perspectives created eight proposals to address gun rights and safety. Now, we’re scaling it up—inviting more Americans to step in, shape solutions, and hold institutions accountable.
We need more voices at the table. Not just to speak—but to build.
If you believe politics should be about solving problems, not scoring points…
If you think most Americans are better than the extremes we see on the news…
If you’re tired of choosing between outrage or apathy…
Then you’re already one of us.
We need you now more than ever. Not just to believe in democracy—but to help fix it.
The tools are here. The people are ready. All we’re missing is you.
Let’s build something better—together.
