Builders Mindset Crash Course

We are accepting 10 student leaders for this pilot..

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all 10 spots are filled. 

Any student leaders (of student groups on a U.S. campus with more than 10 members) can apply. Whether you lead the chess club, club field hockey, or a sorority or fraternity, we encourage you to apply!

You, as the Student Group Leader, will receive a direct grant that will cover both your  time commitment (participation in the virtual training, workshop preparation, and facilitation of the workshop) and any costs associated with the workshop, such as costs required for rental equipment, and food and beverages for attendees. 

You will receive a transfer of $150 dollars to your bank account upon acceptance to the program (and once we receive your account information), and $500 dollars upon completing the virtual training and the required post-training survey.

All participating student leaders will be asked to sign an agreement before receiving the grant. This agreement will include a commitment to attend the virtual training, complete the required surveys, and conduct the in-person workshop. Participantswill also agree to spend the grant on expenses related to the workshop.

The virtual training will take approximately 2 hours of your time. We estimate that workshop preparation and the workshop itself will take about 4 hours total. 

You will join your fellow student leaders from campuses across the country for a virtual training session. The training will be introduced by two special guests and will be conducted by skilled educators who will walk you through how to run the workshop in your student group, providing you with tools and resources including a syllabus, recommended readings, etc. We expect you to feel fully equipped to facilitate this workshop in your student group upon completion of the training. 

The virtual training session will take place within a month of your acceptance into this pilot program. We expect that the training session will take place in September or early October 2024. We will work with all participants to schedule the virtual training at a time that is convenient for all. If you are unable to attend the training due to a conflict or prior commitment, the Builders team will work with you on an alternative solution.

We greatly encourage you to share the Builders Mindset with more students! The individual grant will only cover one workshop, but the course materials will be yours to keep and re-use as you see fit!
